Giselle. Brought up in poverty and sent into domestic service at the age of fourteen, Giselle learns what it is to encounter abuse. Kept as a ‘companion’ for years by the occupying German forces after the fall of Paris in 1940, she endures brutalisation. Through sheer willpower, she survives. During the Chateau Rouge riots she escapes, battles her way across France, joins the Maquis and becomes a fighter in the French Résistance, renowned for her ferocity. She has one mission in life: revenge.
Warning: this story contains depictions of violence, inevitable when recounting the harsh life and development of a Maquis fighter in the French Résistance, which is what Giselle became.
White is a very different story to Giselle and is essentially a romance, drawn from my novel Sicily Dream and adapted to become a novella. White is the story of young love disrupted and the striving to rebuild shattered lives. The story relates what happened to the central character, Lina, after a pivotal episode in the book. Like Giselle, Lina endures to live again, moving around Europe searching for a lost love, seeking to fulfil a dream.
Lakara’s Warehouse. Who’d have thought a six-year-old could change lives? Lakara did. Lakara keeps her most precious possessions in an old tin box she carefully hides away and which she calls her warehouse. Tom Kennedy meets her and her mum, Shara, when he changes careers and becomes a trainee social worker. When Lakara undergoes a life-changing event, Tom steps in to help Shara and her daughter and nothing is the same again.

NOTE: as of March 2025, this novella is issued on Amazon as "three novellas." The book comprises Lakara's Warehouse, and two other novellas, namely Giselle and White and is priced as for one novella, meaning the others are offered free for now.
